The Artful Hour was born from our belief that creativity has the power to heal, connect and transform. We created this nonprofit to make meaningful, hands-on art experiences accessible to everyone.
Our Mission
We improve the cognitive, emotional, social, and physical well-being of individuals facing isolation in Northern New Jersey by delivering meaningful, collaborative art workshops that help restore their sense of connection and community.
Our Story
We’re Grace Valdes Hexter and Wendy DuBoff—co-founders, creative partners, and lifelong friends with a shared passion for art and service.
With backgrounds in design, education, and community engagement, we saw a need for programs that do more than entertain—they inspire, uplift, and leave a lasting impact.
We launched The Artful Hour to bring high-quality, joy-filled creative experiences to people of all ages and abilities.
